Managing Director of Abby Couriers, Mark Giles, said: “Basildon Green Business Forum joins forces with Essex FSB (Federation of Small Businesses) to run the Basildon Environmental Services Market Place each year which is a showcase for local firms which are operating in an environmentally friendly way allowing good practice and ideas to be shared.

“This year’s event is on Monday 12 July 2010 and Abby Couriers has already booked a stand where we will e exhibiting our electric powered courier vehicles which are not only environmentally friendly but reduce costs for the business too.

“At the moment we are running the vehicles from our depot in Vauxhall and with the introduction of 7.500 new charging points in London by 2013 we will be looking to expand our fleet of electric vehicles operating in the capital.

“What we now need to see is charging points being installed in Essex so that electric vehicles can be used in our county too and we will be looking to see how that can be achieved.
